Mothering in these times

Coaching and support for women raising and working with the next generation.

We know we ‘can’t pour from an empty cup’.

That we can’t keep up with the ‘supermum’ persona and ‘have it all’.

We know it’s a waste of time to try, but we still have to keep all the plates spinning

We know we risk the plates coming crashing down.

With a backdrop of the world in ‘these times’, where we’re scared about the future for our children, but can’t face the news, and feel helpless to do anything.

Coaching - Workshops - Retreats - Community

July Offer

During July 2026 I have 10 1:1 slots open for an hours coaching support for just £25

This is for mum’s

  • Worried about the world their kids are growing up in, and feel paralysed to do anything about it.

  • Feeling like it’s all a LOT to hold right now.

  • Perhaps recognising your own emotions, childhood ‘stuff’, being conscious of what you pass on, whilst trying to keep your mental health ok.

  • Maybe struggling feeling not like yourself or the mum you want to be.

If you can identify with one or all of these (you don’t have to tick every box!) then get in touch, email lynne@wanderingtowonder.co.uk or whatsapp 07471696271.

The coaching sessions themselves can be taken in July or August at a time that suits us both. Online or in person in Lancaster or surrounding area.

We can’t change the world in an hour but when we do invest in ourselves it benefits us and has positive ripple effects for those around us too.

Expand your capacity and resilience to cope with what life throws at you, from the trivial to the big things.

Build your self-compassion so you can be kinder to yourself, and stop being your own worst enemy, because you're more likely to make positive changes from a happier place than a place of shame (that’s research backed not just my say so).

I help you show up as the version of you that you want to be, not the snappy burnt out version you feel guilty for.

This work helps connect you with other women who are in the trenches too, so you can build your villages of support and feel less alone.

Without ignoring the context of the world right now, both out there and closer to home, we can’t wellbeing our way out of a cost of living crisis, global politics or climate crisis but we can look after ourselves and be positive role models for the next generation.

These are just first world problems, I should count myself lucky, I just need to get my shit together.

You know it’s a myth trying to have it all, and that mum’s as ‘superheros’ is a trope we’d actually rather drop.

You’re exhausted by carrying the mental load, but know even if you’re able to have the most co-parenting set up, the world does not make it easy for women.

You know that we shouldn’t have to sacrifice our own wellbeing for our kids, but yet you want the best for your family.

We know there are women and mothers in much worse situations in the world than us, and we still are buckling under the weight of it all.

Just because others have it worse than you, doesn’t mean your struggles aren’t valid.

Pushing on and sacrificing yourself helps no one in the end.

You deserve to fill your cup up for yourself, and it’s important so you can keep showing up for the people around you.

It’s for anyone who sees themselves in a mothering role, whether babes, kids, young people of any age.

You might be raising the next generation through blended families, adoption, fostering, any and all dynamics welcome

It might be through your job in schools, health, youth work, social work.

For all women and non binary folk.

It’s not:

  • Full of quick fixes or unrealistic expectations

  • A simple journey from A to B with a neat end point.

  • Parenting/weaning/sleep advice

  • Expectations of becoming perfect/better parent.

Hi I’m Lynne

Firstly I’m normal and imperfect human being just like you, trying her best to juggle everything.

I’m also a mum, ex NHS nurse, charity worker, qualified transformational life coach.

I learnt even before becoming a mum (which wasn’t straightforward for us) that my wellbeing wasn’t something I could sacrifice any more, and yet I still wanted to do my best for my family.

There is a balance to be found, one which ebbs and flows with this rollercoaster of life.

My work is informed by:

  • Background in NHS with health visiting teams and as a specialist school health nurse, being alongside to help people come to their own choices and decisions,

  • Mental health training, all my work is evidence based and I continue to learn and have supervision.

  • ICF accredited Transformational life coach training

  • My own experience leaving and managing situations which were toxic for me, put myself at the bottom of the priority list, years of infertility and unknown future, what my identity is/would be.

  • Becoming a mother, the ups and downs, curating my village of friends and support.

  • Working on leaving behind the good girl people-pleasing version of me.

  • Embracing getting it ‘wrong’ learning to be kinder to myself, giving myself grace and continually working on my own self compassion. - currently the fiercer side, standing up for whats right, for me, loved ones, the planet, and people who are underrepresented in society.

  • She works with a lightness - I never felt the sessions were heavy going and her gentle questioning was like a trail of breadcrumbs to follow to help me find my way to where I wanted to be.

    —Former client

  • I felt much more capable after my session with Lynne - she helped me find inner resources and realise the things I already knew.

    —Former client

  • Lynne is a gifted and genuine professional who brings a lot of skill and empathy to her work. I was particulalry drawn to her connection with nature and own authentic presence. It always feels like we are in the work together and that she is fully present and available. A genuine professional.
